The results were:
* DLSS enabled: 78 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 118 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
* DLSS disabled: 58 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 84 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
* DLSS performance mode: 87 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 138 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
The data clearly indicates that enabling DLSS can result in a significant increase in fps. The DLSS performance mode is highly recommended, as it offers the best performance boost while maintaining excellent graphics.
2. Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter game set in a post-apocalyptic world, in which players must navigate through enemy territory and survive the harsh conditions of a nuclear winter. We tested the game’s performance on two graphics cards, an Nvidia RTX 3060 and an Nvidia RTX 3080. We used three settings: DLSS enabled, DLSS disabled, and DLSS performance mode.
Here are the results:
* DLSS enabled: 82 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 130 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
* DLSS disabled: 63 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 92 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
* DLSS performance mode: 95 fps on average for the RTX 3060 and 138 FPS on average for the RTX 3080.
Again, the results clearly show that enabling DLSS can boost fps significantly. However, it is worth mentioning that the performance mode might result in some slight visual artifacts.
3. Cyberpunk 2077
Finally, we tested the highly-anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077, which is an open-world role-playing game set in a dystopian future. We tested the game’s performance on an Nvidia RTX 3080 using DLSS enabled and disabled settings.
Here are the results:
* DLSS enabled: 68 fps on average.
* DLSS disabled: 44 fps on average.
The data demonstrates that enabling DLSS results in a significant boost in fps.
Conclusion
Enabling DLSS can significantly boost fps in your graphics card, providing higher-quality graphics in games at the same time. The feature is very useful, especially for gamers that want the best quality without sacrificing performance.
